- Jackson Police are beefing up patrols in the area of the Express Fuel store, a business some say is the focus of violence and criminal activity. Tuesday Hinds County D.A. took action to close the convenience store where Sunday's shooting injured a JPD officer. D.A. Robert Schuler Smith has filed a petition for a Temporary Restraining Order and preliminary injunction against Express Fuel with the Hinds County Chancery Court. Jackson Mayor Tony Yarber has joined the petition on behalf of the city. [WLBT]
