Lindsey Graham is no military hero

From a letter to the editor at Greenville, South Carolina Online:

  • The United States Air Force Bronze Star is awarded to members of the Air Force and “recognizes acts of heroism performed in ground combat.” It also recognizes “single acts of merit and meritorious service if the achievement or service is of a lesser degree than that deemed worthy of the Legion of Merit; but such service must have been accomplished with distinction.”
I would like to know what “acts of heroism” Sen. Lindsey Graham has performed or what service was “accomplished with distinction.”
Graham’s military record should be under scrutiny. As an Air Force veteran myself, I believe the awarding of the Air Force Bronze Star to Graham does a great disservice to those Air Force and other military branch members who have truly performed acts of heroism and whose service was accomplished with distinction.
Sitting behind a desk at the Judge Advocate’s Office in Iraq and Afghanistan does not qualify as an “act of heroism and accomplishment with distinction.”
The awarding of the Bronze Star to Sen. Graham by some high-ranking general in the Air Force is only because Graham is a senator.
Sen. Graham should be ashamed of himself for accepting an award that so many of our true heroes earned in battle with their wounds and their lives.
I am fortunate to have known real military heroes. Sen. Graham, you are no hero

"Parent 1" and "Parent 2" out in Tennessee

Excerpt from article by Todd Starnes:

  • The Tennessee Administrative Office of the Courts reversed a controversial decision to replace the terms "mother" and "father" with "parent 1" and "parent 2."
"After receiving feedback regarding a recent change made to the permanent parenting plan form, the AOC has reviewed the procedures and determined that, before making any changes to the form, the AOC should consult with the Domestic Relations Committee of the Tennessee Judicial Conference," the office said in a statement. " We have reverted to the previous form and the Committee has been notified."
"We have reverted to the previous form and the Committee has been notified," the statement continued.
Shortly after the Supreme Court redefined marriage, the state’s Office of the Courts had revised its documents. A spokesperson for the courts confirmed earlier that the words “Mother” and “Father” had been replaced by the terms “Parent 1” and “Parent 2.”

Starnes: Churches & faith-based organizations must prepare for the lawsuits & government investigations

Todd Starnes is Fox News Religion & Culture writer. He spoke at the Abilene Baptist Church in Martinez, Georgia on July 5:

  • “Brothers and sisters — my fellow Southern Baptists — the Supreme Court may have redefined marriage, but God hasn’t redefined anything,” Starnes said.
  • Starnes said at least two federal lawsuits have been filed against county clerks who refuse to grant marriage licenses to same sex couples, and more than a dozen have resigned their positions, “including a fellow Southern Baptist.”
  • “Her name is Linda Barnette from Grenada, Miss.,” Starnes said. “She spent more than 24 years on her job — this lady, a member of her church’s WMU with the Friendship Baptist Church, a church in good standing with our great Southern Baptist Convention — and this is what this dear saint wrote in her resignation letter: ‘I am a follower of Christ, and I believe strongly that the Bible is my final authority.’ This is a fellow Southern Baptist.”
  • Starnes said the Supreme Court decision “now means that gay rights trump religious liberty.”
  • “Churches and faith-based organizations must prepare for the lawsuits and government investigations that are on the way,” Starnes warned. “Pastors who refuse to perform gay marriages and preach from the Bible should prepare for hate crime charges. All dissent will be silenced.”

Gay "Pride" is a Myth: Christian Preachers Brutally beaten at Seattle Gay Pride Parade

If they really had pride they wouldn't be acting like thugs.

Fox News' Todd Starnes reported:
Two street preachers were brutally beaten — punched and kicked — by a crowd at a gay pride festival in Seattle and the entire melee was captured on video.
The preachers were holding signs reading “Repent or Else” and “Jesus Saves From Sin.” The video shows a group of people initially screaming and threatening the men during Pridefest at the Seattle Space Needle.
Television station KOMO reported that some of the attackers belonged to a group called NOH8
A group of women tried to steal their signs but were unsuccessful. The video then shows a group of men grabbing onto one of the preacher’s signs and dragging him to the ground. At some point he was punched in the back of the head a number of times while others can be seen kicking the man.
Another preacher was sucker punched in the back of the head.
Police arrested two suspects – one of whom has a long rap sheet.
It’s not the first time Christians have been attacked by pro-gay activists.
Last August a gunman opened fire inside the headquarters of the Family Research Council in Washington, D.C. Floyd Lee Corkins, Jr. pled guilty to committing an act of terrorism on the pro-family organization.
Corkins shot FRC security guard Leo Johnson – and intended to shoot others – but Johnson was able to disarm the man.
Last year a group called “Angry Queers” caused thousands of dollars in damage to the Portland, Ore. campus of Mars Hill Church. The vandals hurled stones through stain glass windows, LifeSiteNews reported.
The “Angry Queers” sent an e-mail to television station KOIN defending their criminal acts because “Mars Hill is notoriously anti-gay and anti-woman.”
The vandals sent an e-mail to local television station KOIN-TV stating they took the action, because “Mars Hill is notoriously anti-gay and anti-woman.”
And when the new campus of the church opened gay rights protestors shouted profanities at children calling them “homophobes” and telling the boys and girls they were “going to burn in Hell.”

Senatobia Superintendent Jay Foster Still DEMANDS Respect

Foster says he is doing it to set an example to future graduations. Does he understand that the same parents don't come back every year?

  • Foster has been castigated in both the mainstream media and the conservative media. But he said he believes he did the right thing – and I guarantee you that folks will think about misbehaving in the future. [Todd Starnes]
