Franklin Graham extends Welcome to Pope Francis to America

From Face Book:

  • I would like to extend a warm welcome to Pope Francis on his first visit to our great nation. Recently this Pope announced that priests could forgive abortions for one year—the Year of Jubilee. The Bible says, “If we confess our sins, He (God) is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9). As a sinner, I’m glad we can go directly to God for forgiveness 24/7, on any day, in any year. He sent His Son Jesus Christ to pay the price for sin with His shed blood on the Cross of Calvary.

Franklin Graham Encourages Obama to Establish Safe Zones in Syria for Refugees

Dear Mr. President,

With nearly 40 years of experience in international relief work, assisting refugees and displaced people from Southeast Asia, Africa, Europe, and the Middle East, I would like to add my voice to those supporting the establishment of safe zones in Syria. This would allow Syrians fleeing from areas of conflict inside the country to find safety, food, medicine, and shelter, and stay within their borders, nearer their homes, until a political and military settlement has been reached. Most refugees that I have worked with over the years desire to eventually return home. As we have all seen, fleeing to another country adds great risk to their lives and exposes the refugees to exploitation by unscrupulous people who deal in human trafficking.
Establishing safe zones would require partnership with and military assistance from our allies in Europe and the Middle East, and it would require a considerable commitment from the United States. Without action I believe this crisis will only escalate. Europe and the United States will be unable to handle the flood of people; and the long-term implications are great with the possibility of ISIS infiltrating the refugees and bringing their terrorist activities onto our shores. It is more effective, more economical, and safer to work with our partners and deal with the problem there.

Mr. President, I ask you to lead the way in an alliance to provide safe zones inside Syria’s borders. I pray that God will give you His wisdom as your decisions will affect the lives of so many. God bless you.

Sincerely,
Franklin Graham

Leftwing Group "Faithful America" has decided what Christians are allowed to listen to

I guess it's because they view Franklin Graham as being anti-Muslim, but they want to be clear that "it's unacceptable for mainstream Christians and churches to cooperate with Franklin Graham.."  How nice of them to be the great gate keepers of what is righteous and what i snot for all "mainstream Christians." (not).

From their petition:

Franklin Graham once hinted that President Obama might secretly be a Muslim, and accused him of allowing the Muslim Brotherhood to infiltrate his administration. Now, the son of famed evangelist Billy Graham has reached a new low.
Graham posted a hateful Facebook screed calling for all Muslims to be banned from immigrating to the U.S. and insisting they be treated the way America treated the Japanese and Germans during World War II.
Next month, Graham is scheduled to headline revivals in Birmingham, Alabama, and Oklahoma City. Local churches -- including Methodists and Episcopalians -- are lending support to Graham by holding classes and hosting other events aimed at turning people out to hear him preach.
We need to make it clear that it's unacceptable for mainstream Christians and churches to cooperate with Franklin Graham.

Court Tells Christian Bakers to be Quiet. So EVERYBODY needs to make sure this story gets told!!!

The Daily Signal reported:

  • Oregon Labor Commissioner Brad Avakian finalized a preliminary ruling today ordering Aaron and Melissa Klein, the bakers who refused to make a cake for a same-sex wedding, to pay $135,000 in emotional damages to the couple they denied service.
“This case is not about a wedding cake or a marriage,” Avakian wrote. “It is about a business’s refusal to serve someone because of their sexual orientation. Under Oregon law, that is illegal.”
In the ruling, Avakian placed an effective gag order on the Kleins, ordering them to “cease and desist” from speaking publicly about not wanting to bake cakes for same-sex weddings based on their Christian beliefs.
“This effectively strips us of all our First Amendment rights,” the Kleins, owners of Sweet Cakes by Melissa, which has since closed, wrote on their Facebook page. “According to the state of Oregon we neither have freedom of religion or freedom of speech.” >>more HERE
Franklin Graham, from Face Book:

  • This is unbelievable! Remember Aaron and Melissa Klein, the Christian bakery owners in Oregon who were prosecuted by the state for refusing to participate in a same-sex marriage by baking a wedding cake? Friday, Brad Avakian, Oregon’s Bureau of Labor & Industries Commissioner, upheld the ruling that the Kleins have to pay the lesbian couple $135,000 for a long list of alleged damages including: “acute loss of confidence,” “high blood pressure,” “impaired digestion,” “loss of appetite,” “migraine headaches,” “pale and sick at home after work,” “resumption of smoking habit,” “weight gain,” and “worry.” Give me a break. In my opinion, this couple should pay the Kleins $135,000 for all they’ve been through! Even more outrageous is that Avakian has also now ordered the Kleins to “cease and desist” from speaking publicly about not wanting to bake cakes for same-sex weddings based on their Christian beliefs. This is an outright attack on their ‪#‎freedomofspeech‬. A senior attorney with the The Heritage Foundation was absolutely right when he said, “It is exactly this kind of oppressive persecution by government officials that led the pilgrims to America.” Hear what the Kleins have to say in this video and article. Pray for them as they appeal the ruling and for other Christians experiencing discrimination because of their faith right here in “the land of the free.”

The stuff that this same sex couple claimed is just absurd. They probably know it and is why they wanted the court to silence them.

Franklin Graham on Rainbow-lit White House: A real slap in the face to the millions of Americans who do not support same-sex marriage

The President had the White House lit up in rainbow colors to celebrate the Supreme Court ruling on same-sex marriage. This is outrageous—a real slap in the face to the millions of Americans who do not support same-sex marriage and whose voice is being ignored. God is the one who gave the rainbow, and it was associated with His judgment. God sent a flood to wipe out the entire world because mankind had become so wicked and violent. One man, Noah, was found righteous and escaped God’s judgment with his family. The rainbow was a sign to Noah that God would not use the flood again to judge the world. But one day God is going to judge sin—all sin. Only those who are found righteous will be able to escape His judgment. That righteousness comes through faith, believing on the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ who took our sins and shed His blood on the cross for each and every one. So, when we see the gay pride rainbow splashed on business advertisements and many people’s Facebook pages, may it remind all of us of God’s judgment to come. Are you ready? Are your sins forgiven? Wells Fargo Bank is Proud to Discriminate Against Christians

When the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association decided to pull their bank accounts from Wells Fargo Banks it really wasn't any big deal for them. Why? Because the BGEA's move was prompted to do by the banks recent TV commercial which portrayed a lesbian couple adopting a deaf child, and Franklin Graham decided the BGEA should not be part of a bank that endorses that kind of stuff.

The bank made its position clear when asked by CNBC:
  • "For Wells Fargo to be publicly showing equality fits with what they do," Grace said.
Wells Fargo's Williams said there's no plans yet to include more LGBT community members in future ad campaigns. However, the company does not regret its decision.
"It definitely is along the lines of our vision of values and foundationally what we think when it comes to diversity and inclusion," she said.
In other words, if you are a Christian the bank doesn't mind offending you...in fact they are proud of it.

Franklin Graham: Supreme Court did not define marriage, and therefore is not entitled to re-define it.

From FaceBook

The Supreme Court of the United States has ruled today that same-sex marriage is legal in all 50 states. With all due respect to the court, it did not define marriage, and therefore is not entitled to re-define it.
Long before our government came into existence, marriage was created by the One who created man and woman—Almighty God—and His decisions are not subject to review or revision by any manmade court. God is clear about the definition of marriage in His Holy Word: “Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh” (Genesis 2:24).
I pray God will spare America from His judgment, though, by our actions as a nation, we give Him less and less reason to do so." --Franklin Graham 06.26.15

Franklin Graham: Sharia law should be banned in the U.S. and all countries that cherish freedom and liberty

From Face Book

The BBC just published a story about life under radical Islam—what it’s really like. This is a vivid reminder of why Sharia law should be banned in the U.S. and all countries that cherish freedom and liberty. Some western governments are actually considering allowing Sharia law in certain Muslim communities in their countries—can you believe it? ISIS is imposing Sharia law on hundreds of thousands of Iraqis and Syrians who want to be free. Women are oppressed, Christians and minorities are persecuted and murdered, homosexuals are tortured and killed. President Obama seems to be at a loss as to what to do. Pray that God will give him and our leaders wisdom, and pray for all those living under Islam. http://www.bbc.com/news/world-middle-east-32831854

Franklin Graham: Let’s just stop doing business with those who promote sin

 From Franklin Graham on FaceBook:

Have you ever asked yourself–how can we fight the tide of moral decay that is being crammed down our throats by big business, the media, and the gay & lesbian community? Every day it is something else! Tiffany’s started advertising wedding rings for gay couples. Wells Fargo bank is using a same-sex couple in their advertising. And there are more. But it has dawned on me that we don’t have to do business with them. At the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, we are moving our accounts from Wells Fargo to another bank. And guess what—we don’t have to shop at Tiffany & Co., there are plenty of other jewelry stores. This is one way we as Christians can speak out—we have the power of choice. Let’s just stop doing business with those who promote sin and stand against Almighty God’s laws and His standards. Maybe if enough of us do this, it will get their attention. Share this if you agree.

Franklin Graham: Boston Marathon bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev has met American justice

From FaceBook

Sentenced to death. Boston Marathon bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev has met American justice and will pay the penalty for his heinous crimes. Sin gives each and every one of us an eternal death sentence--but Jesus Christ came to this earth to pay our penalty. However, we must turn from our sin and believe in Him. I want the whole world to know that truth and accept His pardon--even Dzhokhar Tsarnaev.

Franklin Graham: God is the One who made us male and female, and He defines marriage as between one man and one woman.

"The Supreme Court heard arguments today relating to same-sex marriage. God is the One who made us male and female, and He defines marriage as between one man and one woman. There is no argument with what God has ordained. It is shameful that our country has declined so much morally that our courts are confused and would even hear this argument. Join me in praying that God would intervene and give these justices a glimpse of His heart and that they would make this decision based on His standards. Remember, two men cannot make a child; two women cannot make a child. This is a fact. Everyone alive today is the result of the union of a man and a woman. It is just simple biology, and the courts can’t change that." --Franklin Graham 04.30.15

RWSL Files: Apologists vs Apologetics & Penn Jillette thinks he is better than you, Christian

There is a difference between apologists and those who do apologetics. I believe all Christians are to do apologetics (1 Peter 3:15). But not all are to be apologists. This is the same argument as those who are evangelists and those who evangelize. There are Christians who have apologetics as a major part of their ministry or even career that it is natural to describe them as apologists.
We should hold apologists to a high standard. Just as we should not too easily handout the labels of philosophers or theologians, we should be discerning with the apologist label. This may include a certain level of education, although there are very talented apologists that are self-taught. I am saying that we should expect apologists to be operating within a certain level of knowledge and skill. This last point is important. You can’t be an apologist if you are not doing apologetics. --Stephen Bedard

Penn Jillette, one half of the popular comedy double act, Penn and Teller, said this during an interview:

The question I get asked by religious people all the time is, without God, what’s to stop me from raping all I want? And my answer is: I do rape all I want. And the amount I want is zero. And I do murder all I want, and the amount I want is zero. The fact that these people think that if they didn’t have this person watching over them that they would go on killing, raping rampages is the most self-damning thing I can imagine.

Jillette is a well known atheist and his statement is an attempt to claim that it is the non-religious who have the moral high ground, atheists who are better people. Why? Because they’re good for the sake of goodness, unlike those terrible theists who are basically sexually rapacious psychopaths, only refraining from rape or murder because they believe that God is constantly watching them like a heavenly policeman. So, whom would you rather trust: the friendly atheist magician with the lovely smile, or the theist who is longing to start a land war in Asia and go pillaging and raping, only holding back because they’re afraid their Sky Daddy is watching them? --Andy Bannister
