Jackson County Supervisors Need to Represent Jackson County & Not the NAACP in State Flag Vote

According to a Biloxi Sun Herald article the Jackson County Board of Supervisors is going to vote on whether or not to continue displaying the Mississippi state flag on county property. In reality, it's a given and not even something that should be up for vote. As long as the flag is the official flag of Mississippi and Jackson County is a county within it, then the flag should fly. Wait until the state of Mississippi changes it as it is up to the state and NOT the NAACP.

The NAACP plans to fill the meeting with NAACP members, which though that might seem impressive to some people, not everyone in Jackson County supports this effort by the NAACP. Hopefully the supervisors will make their decision based on the desires of their entire community and not just the NAACP.

Personally I do not and never have supported the NAACP's efforts on this issue (Yes, you can disagree with the NAACP and not be racist..contrary to what some of their members might suggest). . The move started after a shooting in Charleston in which a picture of the shooter was discovered  showing him holding a confederate flag. The shooter also said he did it because he wanted to start a race war. Well, with help of the NAACP he did as the NAACP started a war on southern history and culture. The NAACP along with the help of the Democrat Party has become the voice of intolerance. Banning books was once a corner piece of liberalism. Now banning history is a center piece. .

From the Sun Herald:
  • The NAACP is calling on all Coast chapters to attend Monday's Jackson County Board of Supervisors meeting which is set to vote on the whether the state flag will fly on county property. At issue is the Confederate battle emblem in the flag's upper-left corner."We will hold a prayer vigil and then take our seats in order to make sure we will be there en mass to witness what we hope will be the Jackson County supervisors doing the right thing," the Jackson County NAACP's Curley Clark said.
"They'll either vote it up or down," Clark told the Sun Herald. "Whatever takes places in Jackson County will set the tone for whatever happens up and down the Coast. There are similar requests in Harrison and Hancock counties and my hopes are that it will spread across the state.

  •  The issue is on the Board of Supervisor's agenda under Action Items simply as "Mississippi State Flag."When asked what he thinks the chances are Jackson County will vote to take down the flag, Clark said, "Things are changing from day to day. This week, we've had a Moss Point native who filed a lawsuit in federal court to have the flag changed."

One Note About One Quote: Dylann Roof's NAACP Sanctioned War on a Flag Edition

Curley Clark

It hurts me, as a Mississippian, to know that fellow Mississippians are not sensitive to a large percentage of the state.”- President of the Jackson County NAACP Curley Clark [10.12.15]

Z Richards
Z-Note: Since it was the NAACP that started the attack on southern culture, it should come as no surprise that the ones they perceive as the "offenders" are the ones who are "not sensitive." It's simply the result of a, ignorant agenda which the NAACP perpetrated in compliance with Charleston shooter, Dylann Roof and his wishes to start a race war. The NAACP immediately took the bait and started one.  And you do not believe like they do...you are the insensitive one. No one was ever killed for anything at any time by a flag. It's just another stupid war from people who would rather react than think.

National NAACP Says Mississippi MUST GET RID of their Flag!! Boycott Coercion is option

The National NAACP  doesn't want Mississippians to vote on whether or not to change the flag.

They have already decided it should be changed because the current flag is "divisive," or so says  Curley Clark, Jackson County NAACP President. They will present a resolution tomorrow.

  • "It is time to have the divisive Confederate symbol removed from our state flag and replaced with a symbol that all Mississippians can embrace," Clark said.[WLOX]
One that "ALL Mississippians can embrace"? Unless they have not been paying attention they should already know there are plenty of people in the state who do NOT want to change the flag. So, what he is actually saying is that they think Mississippi should have a flag that THEY approve. There's no "All Mississippians" in that equation.

And what's a little friendly coercion aimed at your own state for not playing by their rules?

  •   Clark said the goal of the resolution is to put pressure on Mississippi Governor Phil Bryant and the legislature to change the flag, however the group has not determined what the consequences may be if Mississippi leaders fail to change the flag." We haven't agreed upon the different options available.  At this point we are not discussing a boycott; that's an economic option, but not one we are discussing at this time."

Reeves: Flag Change Should be Up to Voters / NAACP: time to have the divisive Confederate symbol removed

Lt Governor Tate Reeves says a change to the state flag should be put to a vote. The head of Jackson's NAACP, Curley Clark, is going to go and recruit help from the nation NAACP to see that it is gotten rid of.

Reeves:
  • Reeves said he would not support any action which would go against the will of the people.
"The people of Mississippi voted in 2001, and voted overwhelmingly, to maintain the status quo and keep the 1894 flag," Reeves said. "And I would be very opposed to the governor making a unilateral decision or the Legislature making a unilateral decision to change the flag."
Clark:
  • The head of Jackson County's NAACP wants Mississippi to adopt a new flag. And Curley Clark says he'll ask for the national NAACP's support to change the current Mississippi flag.
On Saturday, Clark will be in Philadelphia at the NAACP National Convention. During that meeting, he'll request the NAACP's assistance to work with Mississippi lawmakers on a plan to remove the confederate battle symbol from the state flag. “It is time to have the divisive Confederate symbol re-moved from our state flag and replaced with a symbol that all Mississippians can embrace”, Clark said.[WDAM
