Is Jackson, Mississippi Going to Be the Detroit of the Future?

The inevitable consequence of  the results of liberal governments and failed nanny-statism?

Jackson City councilman Kenneth Stokes, in a council discussion on the city going into the wrecker business, epitomized in one comment the political philosophy of liberalism:

  • "My concern is that some of these (wrecker) companies coming out of Pearl and everywhere else towing cars. They don't respect citizens," Stokes said. "They take poor people cars who can't afford the towing and storage fees." [Clarion Ledger]
Shorter Kenneth Stokes: "We're from the government and we're here to help."
