Cheap Seat Report: Watching The Media do Media Stuff

Columnist HA Goodman makes it clear that the key to winning a presidential debate are not the issues, but whetheror not you are a Democrat with his latest column being titled "Bernie Sanders Won the Debate. Hillary Clinton Evoked 9/11 and Sounded Like A Republican."

Why is it that no one within the Muslim community there in France knew what these guys were up to? Because it seems to me that this was a pretty big plan. Surely someone beyond the seven guys who’ve been killed over the last 48 hours would have to have known something and that was probably within the Muslim community but yet no one said anything.”  --John Vause [CNN] 11.15.15

The wage for race baiting is apparently pretty good: Sharpton got a 70 percent raise from his nonprofit last year, bringing his compensation above $412,000. It maybe classified as a "non-profit" but that's a matter of perspective. Sharpton is personally making a profit

CNN reporters standing near where a raid is actively going on in France. The OMG responses every time they hear a gun shot is rather dramatic. Thats what you get when you take a microphone to a gun fight.

The CNN promo for the next Republican debate makes it looks like a cage match. Maybe that's what they have in mind

Frank Corder is a writer at "Yall Politics" here in Mississippi and  is pretending to be "peacemaker" while making charges against anyone who dares criticize what he thinks the MSGOP is:
"There is a small but vocal faction of voters who desire Republicans to be ruled more by emotion than results, not unlike Democrats or the backers of Initiative 42 this very year. Hype is used to grift. Personal gratification and raising their own name ID are valued over the good of the whole. Accusatory press releases are sent out to try and maintain some semblance of relevancy. " It's clear he is aiming at Chris Mcdaniels and people his circles. Corder's candidate Thad Cochran is doing a bag-up job adding to the national debt. Something Corder doesn't understand that his kids will have to pay for.

Univision chairman Haim Saban, said that he believes the government needs to increase its scrutiny of Muslims in the wake of recent terrorist threats to the United States.
I presume it's so there is more room for unscrutinized Mexiacns.

People magazine has announced that David Beckham is the sexiest man alive. Write in votes included Kanye West, Brad Pitt and Hillary Clinton.

"Media Matters" is claiming that Ben Stein said outright that Obama hates America because he is black. Stein qualified that he didn't know:

Al Sharpton Wants to compete with "Meet The Press."

With his MSNBC weekday show cancelled, Sharpton will be moving to Sunday morning.

Sharpton told the Daily Beast:

  • “The reason 8 a.m. works for me is that it’s early enough for all the church crowd to watch before they go to church.” Sharpton said his goal is to compete with NBC’s Meet the Press, CNN’s State of the Union, Fox News Sunday and other such programs to make and break news—with guests as diverse as Obama administration Cabinet officials and hip-hop mogul Jay-Z—although that newsy ambition might be hampered by his plan to tape the show on Fridays rather than do it live on Sundays.

Al Sharpton on Rachel Dolezal: Her race is not a determining factor. Her honesty should be the only thing that we discuss

“I think you should always be truthful about who you are, and I understand that people may be angry if she lied about that. But … While transparency and honesty should always be looked for, let us not be confused, it was always blacks and whites that fought together. So, her race is not a determining factor. Her honesty should be the only thing that we discuss.”  --Al  Sharpton 06.12.15

Al Sharpton; the Pat Robertson of the Left

Pat Robertson use to weigh in now and then on why hurricanes and floods happened. I never heard from him this time on the flooding and tornadoes in Texas, but Al Sharpton stepped up.

 On his syndicated talk show

“Talking about the weather, all of the storms, the tornadoes, the flooding in Texas. Is this a rebuke from God, which many callers said today it is. And others are saying it is just a natural result of man using fossil fuels and abusing the environment — and it’s climate change, global warning. We’ve done it to ourselves.”

Feminist Foundation Seeks to Extort Money From TLC Because of Propaganda Against Duggars

Though they are coming in under the guise of seeking "public education campaign" they make themselves clear:
  • The Ms. Foundation is calling upon TLC to partner with child sexual abuse prevention advocates to launch a public education campaign on the same scale as the network's relentless marketing of the Duggar family. Regardless of whether the network cancels the Duggars' show or not, TLC can and must help empower every person who knows of or suspects child sexual abuse to take action.[USA Today]
In case that's not clear enough, it is the same thing Jesse Jackson's Rainbow Coalition  is best know for (and Al Sharpton currently does). When they heard anything that implied "racism," they would swoop in and get donations or something from the organization in the name of "educating the people of America" about racism.
The same is with this Foundation on the sex abuse issue who says TLC "must" help empower every person.

Though a majority of "racism" claims are false, no one is suggesting that sexual abuse does not happen and is not important to address. It's just that in the Duggar case it involved a 14 year old boy and the issue was dealt with at the time.  Gossip rags like "The Raw Story," media know-it-all Oprah Winfrey, and some misinformed religious zealots under the label of "Christian" keep pushing the false narrative.

The Ms Foundation, based out of New York,  claims to be fighting the "war on women" (from their web site]. So for them to pursue another false narrative is par for it's usual course.

Pastor Johnson: Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, where are you?

Yeah I can understand when they do wrong, you march, baby, but we have lost two good men, and nobody has marched, nobody has — where you at? Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, where are you?” --Pastor Dennis Johnson, who was also  Tate’s Uncle. 05.16.15( from the pulpit of Officer Liquori Tate's funeral in Hattiesburg).

Peter King: Next time some of these commentators are in trouble, instead of calling a cop, call Al Sharpton.

Peter King

I think I disagree with Peter King about as much as I agree with him, but he is on target with this one.

This is what goes on all the time, 24/7, cops putting their lives on the line — cops go through this every day. I just wish the New York Times and Newsday and these other liberal rags would realize that and not put it all out of proportion.

I wish some of these people criticizing the cops could spend one night in the shoes of those cops. And the next time an editorial writer or some of these commentators are in trouble, instead of calling a cop, call Al Sharpton, and see what happens then. These are cops who do their job day in, day out.”  --Peter King 05.03.15 [Fox News}

DOH REPORT: Al Sharpton Wants to Federalize the Police

If you have not already been convinced the ideas that people like Sharpton come up with are so totally not thought all the way through: This should be a clincher. Anyone who could even imply that the Federal government would offer anything with more accountability has not done a very good job of checking out just how accountable most government run programs are.

Glenn Harlan Reynolds writes:

  • In the wake of the Baltimore riots, Al Sharpton is calling for the federal takeover of local police. Like most ideas from the loathsome Rev. Sharpton, this is a lousy one. But since federalizing local police is actually an Obama administration idea, it's worth paying a bit more attention.
  • The idea behind federal supervision of local police forces is that it will make them more accountable. Instead of a bunch of presumptively racist, violent hicks running things on a local level, we'll see the cool professionalism of the national government in charge.
  • There are (at least) two problems with this approach. The first is that federal law enforcement, especially in recent years, hasn't exactly been a haven of cool professionalism. The second is that no law enforcement agency is very good at policing itself, meaning that a national police force is likely to be less accountable, not more. And there's a third problem, too, but we'll get to that in a minute.

Real Racism Exists and #blacklivesmatter is their Rallying Cry

A new micro-doc lashes out at Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, Cenk Uygur, and Rachel Maddow for spreading the lie of "hands up, don't shoot," which gave rise to protests and even rioting in Ferguson, Missouri.

Not one apology was given to Darren Wilson, the police, or America for fanning the flames of hate and injustice, even after the discovery that Michael Brown never had his hands up, according to eye witness testimony and forensic evidence. Mr. Brown, after robbing a convenience store, attacked Officer Wilson to the point where he had no choice but to fire his weapon.

Instead of people rallying that ‘all lives matter’ we have organizations like the National Association for Colored People, Congressional Black Caucus, Black Entertainment, and the National Al Sharpton Action Network leading the charge on just who the racists are…carrying signs that say ‘black lives matter.’
Interesting that people who identify their organizations and voting bias off the color of their skin would be given so much credibility as to where the real racism in America is.
