Donald Trump, though, either doesn't understand the First Amendment, doesn't like it, or he doesn't care, preferring instead to lie to his supporters, pretending that people talking back to him—or, gasp, protesting his rallies—are un-American "thugs" trying to take away their First Amendment right to band together against "the other" in their so-called quest for greatness. Footage of his rallies shows him standing before his people, egging them on as they manhandle protesters, yelling about "political correctness," making his supporters want to strike out. What he is doing is classic demagoguery: Play to people's fears about "the other" taking what is theirs (money, jobs, rights, the country they want to control). Cheer them on when they express their hatred, thus giving them permission to act on their supremacist leanings. Even give them a language to excuse it: "I just hate political correctness," people repeat over and over again after saying something blatantly racist. • A college student told likely GOP presidential candidate Jeb Bush on Wednesday that his brother, former President George W. Bush, was to blame for the rise of the Islamic State.The heated confrontation took place at a town hall meeting in Reno, Nevada, according to The New York Times. Ivy Ziedrich, 19, a student at the University of Nevada, approached the former Florida governor to question him about comments he had made during the event. Bush had argued that the Obama administration's weak foreign policy was responsible for the rise of the terrorist group, also known as ISIS, in the Middle East.
  Ziedrich countered that Obama wasn't to blame -- and that it was his predecessor's decision to disband the Iraqi army that made the group's formation possible.
  "Your brother created ISIS," she told Bush.
  What followed was a contentious exchange, according to the Times. Ziedrich accused Bush of "spouting nationalist rhetoric to get us involved in more wars," pointing out that under his brother, the U.S. had spent years in the Middle East, waging "pointless wars where we send young American men to die for the idea of American exceptionalism." Zogby & Quinnipiac Polls: Barack Obama Worst President Since WWII

Quinnipiac found 45 percent of voters say the country would have been better off if Mr. Romney had been elected, while just 38 percent say Mr. Obama remains a better choice. Even Democrats aren’t so sure — just 74 percent of them told the pollsters Mr. Obama was clearly the better pick in the last election.

Voters also rated the man who swept into office in 2009 with a promise of “hope and change” as worse than even his predecessor, Republican President George W. Bush, who left office with terrible approval ratings.

“Over the span of 69 years of American history and 12 presidencies, President Barack Obama finds himself with President George W. Bush at the bottom of the popularity barrel,” said Tim Malloy, assistant director of the Quinnipiac University Poll.

A Zogby Analytics Poll released Wednesday also found Mr. Obama slipping — in that survey, to 44 percent approval, while his disapproval jumped 4 percentage points from last month to reach 54 percent.
Nearly half of voters told the Zogby poll that Mr. Obama is “unable to lead the country.”
