David Banner, Mississippi rapper, actor and Instagram user, expressed his frustration on Instagram that white people are lamenting the violence of the uprising in Baltimore,
but are ignoring what actually caused it..
He said:
- "Whites today don't know what all the black fuss is about, just like their parents didn't know what all the black fuss was about during segregation, just like their parents didn't know what all the black fuss was about during Jim Crow and the Black Codes, just like their parents didn't know what all the black fuss was about during slavery...Face facts, people, most whites will never understand the society they've crafted or how it causes what we see in Baltimore."
For the most part white people were condemning the violent acts and vandalism done by a group who claimed to be seeking "justice" for Freddie Gray. Many people like Banner also attempted to deflect the responsibility of the violence and vandalism away from people in Baltimore by repeatedly saying that those who did that kind of stuff were agitators from out of town. There were a few, but for the most part, it has been revealed that most of them lived in Baltimore.
