Florida Democrats hold rally for 2016 but neither Sanders or Clinton show up.

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. (AP) — Hillary Rodham Clinton was a no-show Saturday. Ditto Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders.

The Florida Democratic Party held a weekend convention to rally supporters for next year's election without the benefit of a presidential candidate actually showing up. Sure, party activists could pose with life-size cardboard cutouts of Clinton and Sanders, but Clinton was in South Carolina on Saturday and Sanders was in New Hampshire — two of the first four states in the nominating process.

While Florida will play a major role in deciding the presidency, it will have far less influence in choosing the Democratic nominee. And Democratic delegates understand that.

"The first four states are the most important, and I don't consider it any slight politically whatsoever," said Mitch Ceasar, a Democratic National Committee member from Broward County. "I had no expectation either of them would be here. My expectations were met."

But University of South Florida political science professor Susan MacManus said it's a mistake for the candidates to skip the event, considering how important Florida will be in the general election. Florida is the largest state in the country that could swing either way in the presidential election. MacManus noted Florida also has some of the party's biggest donors, so Clinton or Sanders are missing out on fundraising opportunities, publicity and winning the favor of Democrats who might eventually volunteer for a campaign in a key state.

Congressional Record from 1963 Reveals Communist Warning About America Which Is Eerily Happening Now

Below is a transcript of the U.S. Congressional Record taken from Appendix, pp. A34-A35, published on January 10, 1963.

“Current Communist Goals”

EXTENSION OF REMARKS OF HON. A. S. HERLONG, JR. OF FLORIDA
IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES
Thursday, January 10, 1963
Mr. HERLONG. Mr. Speaker, Mrs. Patricia Nordman of De Land, Fla., is an ardent and articulate opponent of communism, and until recently published the De Land Courier, which she dedicated to the purpose of alerting the public to the dangers of communism in America.
At Mrs. Nordman’s request, I include in the RECORD, under unanimous consent, the following “Current Communist Goals,” which she identifies as an excerpt from “The Naked Communist,” by Cleon Skousen:
[From “The Naked Communist,” by Cleon Skousen]

CURRENT COMMUNIST GOALS
1. U.S. acceptance of coexistence as the only alternative to atomic war.
2. U.S. willingness to capitulate in preference to engaging in atomic war.
3. Develop the illusion that total disarmament [by] the United States would be a demonstration of moral strength.
4. Permit free trade between all nations regardless of Communist affiliation and regardless of whether or not items could be used for war.
5. Extension of long-term loans to Russia and Soviet satellites.
6. Provide American aid to all nations regardless of Communist domination.
7. Grant recognition of Red China. Admission of Red China to the U.N.
8. Set up East and West Germany as separate states in spite of Khrushchev’s promise in 1955 to settle the German question by free elections under supervision of the U.N.
9. Prolong the conferences to ban atomic tests because the United States has agreed to suspend tests as long as negotiations are in progress.
10. Allow all Soviet satellites individual representation in the U.N.
11. Promote the U.N. as the only hope for mankind. If its charter is rewritten, demand that it be set up as a one-world government with its own independent armed forces. (Some Communist leaders believe the world can be taken over as easily by the U.N. as by Moscow. Sometimes these two centers compete with each other as they are now doing in the Congo.)
12. Resist any attempt to outlaw the Communist Party.
13. Do away with all loyalty oaths.
14. Continue giving Russia access to the U.S. Patent Office.
15. Capture one or both of the political parties in the United States.
16. Use technical decisions of the courts to weaken basic American institutions by claiming their activities violate civil rights.
17. Get control of the schools. Use them as transmission belts for socialism and current Communist propaganda. Soften the curriculum. Get control of teachers’ associations. Put the party line in textbooks.
18. Gain control of all student newspapers.
19. Use student riots to foment public protests against programs or organizations which are under Communist attack.
20. Infiltrate the press. Get control of book-review assignments, editorial writing, policymaking positions.
21. Gain control of key positions in radio, TV, and motion pictures.
22. Continue discrediting American culture by degrading all forms of artistic expression. An American Communist cell was told to “eliminate all good sculpture from parks and buildings, substitute shapeless, awkward and meaningless forms.”
23. Control art critics and directors of art museums. “Our plan is to promote ugliness, repulsive, meaningless art.”
24. Eliminate all laws governing obscenity by calling them “censorship” and a violation of free speech and free press.
25. Break down cultural standards of morality by promoting pornography and obscenity in books, magazines, motion pictures, radio, and TV.
26. Present homosexuality, degeneracy and promiscuity as “normal, natural, healthy.”
27. Infiltrate the churches and replace revealed religion with “social” religion. Discredit the Bible and emphasize the need for intellectual maturity which does not need a “religious crutch.”
28. Eliminate prayer or any phase of religious expression in the schools on the ground that it violates the principle of “separation of church and state.”
29. Discredit the American Constitution by calling it inadequate, old-fashioned, out of step with modern needs, a hindrance to cooperation between nations on a worldwide basis.
30. Discredit the American Founding Fathers. Present them as selfish aristocrats who had no concern for the “common man.”
31. Belittle all forms of American culture and discourage the teaching of American history on the ground that it was only a minor part of the “big picture.” Give more emphasis to Russian history since the Communists took over.
32. Support any socialist movement to give centralized control over any part of the culture–education, social agencies, welfare programs, mental health clinics, etc.
33. Eliminate all laws or procedures which interfere with the operation of the Communist apparatus.
34. Eliminate the House Committee on Un-American Activities.
35. Discredit and eventually dismantle the FBI.
36. Infiltrate and gain control of more unions.
37. Infiltrate and gain control of big business.
38. Transfer some of the powers of arrest from the police to social agencies. Treat all behavioral problems as psychiatric disorders which no one but psychiatrists can understand [or treat].
39. Dominate the psychiatric profession and use mental health laws as a means of gaining coercive control over those who oppose Communist goals.
40. Discredit the family as an institution. Encourage promiscuity and easy divorce.
41. Emphasize the need to raise children away from the negative influence of parents. Attribute prejudices, mental blocks and retarding of children to suppressive influence of parents.
42. Create the impression that violence and insurrection are legitimate aspects of the American tradition; that students and special-interest groups should rise up and use [“]united force[“] to solve economic, political or social problems.
43. Overthrow all colonial governments before native populations are ready for self-government.
44. Internationalize the Panama Canal.
45. Repeal the Connally reservation so the United States cannot prevent the World Court from seizing jurisdiction [over domestic problems. Give the World Court jurisdiction] over nations and individuals alike.

Jackson Free Press Publisher Unleashes his Hatred of all the Haters Who Don't Think Like Him

Todd Stauffer, publisher of the Jackson Free Press, thinks Republicans hate democracy, and immigrants, the law, and education. That's just a few of the things Stauffer addressed in his Op/ed in the JFP [Do the Anti-42 Politicians Feel No Shame?]

To begin with, of course, when someone starts an article with the question he poses, you know it's likely to be a whiney rant and Stauffer did not hold back. In fact a little cheese to go with his "whine" would be appropo.

He begins:
  • Do you ever wake up in the morning and wonder why Mississippi's Republican Leadership seems to hate democracy so much?
I get that they hate Democrats; they can't even get their name right. (It's the Democratic Party, not the "Democrat Party." Wonder how many times we'll hear that this political season.)

But what I'm talking about is "little d" democracy—you know, the "of the people" thing—and specifically when it comes to Initiative 42, the ballot initiative designed to get the Legislature to follow its own Mississippi Adequate Education Program formula when it sets the budget for state public-school funding.
You can read the entire article through the link above.

On a side note, it's rather revealing when he writes:

  • Education is the bedrock of economic development. It's the primary foundation of success in the global economy of the 21st century. It's so much more important to invest in than failed ports, wood-into-diesel startups or tax abatements for big-box retailers. Public education should be a non-negotiable in the state's budget, just as the law set it up to be.

Clearly he has drank the progressive koolaid. Government should not even be involved in education, but they eventually took control of it and use it to push their agendas, which, as Stauffer points out, is global in scope. Not pro-America, but global. The end goal of public education is to create citizens loyal to the state. That is one of the major reasons why they don't like religion in public schools. Religion divides loyalty from the state.  It is also the reason Common Core is so important to enact on a nationwide scope. Common Core will help get all the schools on the same page. In order to progress, history has to be rewritten in order to further a global agenda and Common Core will help with that. It will also aid in changing student values...to that which is acceptable on a global level. In short, Public Education teaches the Religion of the State.

The #DemocraticDebate the Way I saw it. #DemDebate

Liberal Debate Rule: The winner of tonight's debate will be the one who can promise the most free stuff to the most people. Sanders is the early favorite.

There was  plenty  of time for Mitch McConnell to get into tonights debate with all the rest of the lefties.

Even before the debate began, CNN declared themselves the winner of the DNC Debate

"At Dem Debate, Hillary will demonstrate her high level of intelligence by managing to remember, on every issue, the side she's currently on." --Mike Huckabee

A debate, or else there is a pant suit convention in town
Chafee's claim to fame is "I have had no scandals." But isn't a scandal what qualifies a person to run for president as a Democrat?

Shouldn't Hillary be debating herself? The position she holds today against the one she held yesterday??

"We're not going to separate you from your baby"- Bernie Sanders. Unless Planned Parenthood does it, then we will pay for it.

So far Sanders is winning for offering the most free stuff to more people

Instead of blaming Obama, they went  all the way back to George Bush

"Putin is not feeling too nervous or scared. ‪#‎DemDebate‬" --Donald Trump

"I wish CNN could have squeezed more commercials into this." --said no one.

Do black lives matter or do all lives matter? None of them say that all lives matter....Webb finally did but changed the subject real quick to black lives matter.

If Hillary doesn't want anyone to know what she really thinks on an issue, she just says "It's up to the state."

Sanders says Climate change is a "moral issue." It's right there in the Bible in that book between Genesis and Exodus.

Hillary earlier in the debate said she can work with both parties but then toward the end said that she was most proud of making Republicans her enemy. She changed a position so quick lots of people missed it.

Chafee and Sanders plugged their web sites.

My takeaway from the DNC debate:
Democrats don't have a problem with corruption and will protect each other if they are involved.
Expense for whatever they propose is irrelevant.
5 white people explained how integrated their party is.
Chafee is apparently a real person and is not made up. And he votes for stuff he never read and has personal excuses for it.
Republicans are the enemy.
All of them said the economy is bad, but none of them would blame Obama..but instead went all the way back to Bush

Climate Change is the most important issue Democrats face.
All gun violence is the NRA's fault.
Democrats are mostly clueless about foreign policy, but they have memorized some gratuitous soundbytes to make it sound like they know something.
Hillary wants to be the first woman president. Of course, if she was elected she would really have no choice, would she??

Assaults on the religious liberty of our service members needs to be stopped

Summary of an article by Ron Crews at Georgetown University:

Since George Washington first led our military onto the battlefields of the Revolutionary War, service to God and to country have been simultaneously possible and encouraged. Chaplains were considered so indispensable to a working military that they were even drafted during the Civil War. The assault on the religious liberty of our service members is a new phenomenon.

Nor is there any basis in law for the demand that service members leave their religious liberty at the recruiting door. The Religious Freedom Restoration Act (RFRA), one of the key federal statutes guaranteeing religious liberty for all Americans, has always been viewed by the courts as applying to the armed services. Indeed, the US Department of Defense removed any doubt by expressly incorporating RFRA into its regulations effective January 2010.

Congress has repeatedly admonished the Pentagon in recent years that the religious liberty rights of service members must be respected; yet, the reality of life in the armed services tells a very different story. It has become hostile territory for service members, particularly those of Christian faith, who wish to freely exercise their First Amendment right to religious liberty—the very First Amendment they fight to defend, for which they are willing to die.

Republicans MUST address the rising cost of medication among all the "health care" language rhetoric

Not that I'm pushing Bernie Sanders, but I will say he is addressing an issue with health care that is more important than many of the others and that is the price of prescription drugs. As the Washington Post's Amber Phillips noted " Republicans, by contrast, have largely been silent.."

  •  Sure, GOP presidential candidates, such as Sen. Marco Rubio (Fla.) and Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, have presented alternatives to the 2010 health-care reform law, but for whatever reason, these proposals haven't gained much traction. (Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker (R), who dropped out of the race Monday, also had an alternative.) Jumping into the prescription drug debate could help elevate those candidates' plans, because prescription drug prices is one of the few health-care issues where Americans agree that the status quo needs to change. In fact, 76 percent of Americans said dealing with prescription drug prices should be Washington's No. 1 health-care priority, according to an April poll from the Kaiser Family Foundation.
Hillary Clinton:
  •  “It is time to deal with skyrocketing out of pocket costs and runaway prescription drug prices that are going up last year by 12 percent. I mean, it’s disgraceful," said Clinton in Little Rock, Arkansas on Monday. And on Tuesday night, Clinton had more strong comments on the matter: “It has gotten to the point where people are being asked to pay not just hundreds but thousands of dollars for a single pill...That is not the way the market is supposed to work. That is bad actors making a fortune off of people’s misfortune.”
According to The Hill:

  • Sens. Ron Wyden (D-Ore.) and Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) have also been working across the aisle to draw attention to high drug prices. Last year, the pair asked Gilead Sciences to justify the price of its new hepatitis cure called Sovaldi. The drug has become a symbol of high drug prices, with its $84,000 price tag for a 12-week treatment.

We just don't know WHAT they did.

One Note About One Quote: Bernie "Terminating Pregnancy" Sanders Edition

Bernie Sanders

Republicans should stop politicizing the right of women in this country to control their own bodies. The decision to end a pregnancy should be made in consultation with a doctor without interference or judgment from politicians.” --Bernie Sanders 09.22.15

Zorek Richards

Z-Note:  By definition, Pregnancy is: The state of carrying a developing embryo or fetus within the female body; the condition or period of being pregnant; The period from conception to birth. So by using his language he is admitting rather callously that when an abortion occurs, a pregnancy is ended.......or, simply, a life which began at conception is ended before it's given a chance to experience birth. And Sanders is OK with that.

BOBBY JINDAL ANSWERS THE "MUSLIM" QUESTION

Bernie Sanders & Elijah Cummings Introduce Comprehensive Legislation to Lower Soaring Drug Prices

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) and House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Ranking Member Elijah Cummings (D-Md.) today introduced legislation to address skyrocketing increases in prescription drug prices.

Americans, who already pay the highest prices for prescription drugs in the world, saw prices jump more than 12 percent last year, according to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. That increase was more than double the rise in overall medical costs. Nearly one in five Americans did not fill a prescription last year because they could not afford it.
“Americans should not have to live in fear that they will go bankrupt if they get sick. People should not have to go without the medication they need just because their elected officials aren’t willing to challenge the drug and health care industry lobby,” Sanders said. The pharmaceutical industry spent nearly $230 million on lobbying last year, some $65 million more than any other industry, and employed over 1,400 registered lobbyists.
“In light of 1,000 percent price increases – and more – American families are fed up with trying to afford their medications as they watch drug companies rake in record profits,” Ranking Member Cummings said. “This commonsense and comprehensive bill will reverse this alarming trend, help put people before profits, and make lifesaving drugs more affordable and accessible to millions of Americans families.”
The Prescription Drug Affordability Act of 2015 authorizes the Secretary of Health and Human Services to negotiate drug prices with pharmaceutical companies to bring down costs for Medicare drug benefits. The bill also includes tougher penalties for drug companies that commit fraud and bans the practice of brand name drugmakers paying competitors to keep lower-priced generic substitutes off the market. The bill also lowers barriers to the importation of lower-cost drugs from Canada.
“We should use our buying power to get better deals for the American people. Other countries do it and so should we,” Sanders said.
The Senate bill is cosponsored by Sen. Al Franken (D-Minn.). The legislation is supported by the Alliance for Retired Americans, Social Security Works, the National Committee to Preserve Social Security and Medicare, National Center for Health Research, Public Citizen, Association of Clinicians for the Underserved, and RxRights, representing the voices of millions of Americans.

It’s not Republican or Democrat anymore, It’s the country, stupid!

"Political insiders don’t see that the biggest political phenomenon in America today is a revolt against the “ruling class” of insiders that have dominated Washington for more than three decades. In two very different ways, Trump and Sanders are agents of this revolt. " --Robert Reich

"Jeb Bush who appears to be dumb founded (he didn’t have far to go) over the Trump phenomenon balks and stutters his way to the basement. He said recently that Trump is “more of a Democrat than a Republican.” Like Karl Rove and many in the stunned Republican fraternity, Bush just doesn’t get the message. It’s not Republican or Democrat anymore, It’s the country, stupid! What Trump has brought to the field is, in part, what we the people have been shouting from the side lines. His personal demeanor or even his “interesting” background is superfluous at the moment. It’s the bold, clear subject matter of his message that counts!--Howard Stansell

Bernie Sanders is in South Carolina Trying to be Obama's Third Term on Racism

Democratic presidential hopeful Bernie Sanders sought to broaden his appeal with black voters Friday in speeches denouncing “institutional racism” in the American political and economic system.
The Vermont senator addressed an overwhelmingly white crowd in the Republican stronghold of Greenville, South Carolina, as he made his case that “racism still remains a much too real part of American life.” He’s expected to meet privately with black leaders while in the state.
“There is no one who will fight harder not only to end institutional racism, but to make fundamental changes in our broken criminal justice system,” he said, drawing roars from the crowd of almost 3,000.
He struck a similar chord Friday evening in front of another 2,000-plus people in the capital city of Columbia. That crowd was younger than in Greenville, but no more racially diverse.
Sanders called for banning the for-profit prison industry, demilitarizing local police forces and restoring portions of the Voting Rights Act struck down by the Supreme Court.
South Carolina hosts the South’s first presidential primary and is the first state in the nominating process to have a large number of black voters, who could make up a majority of the Democratic primary electorate in the state.

Chomsky: Bernie Sanders is a thorn in the side of the Clinton machine, which is not a bad thing

Noam Chomsky recently replied to a question about Bernie Sanders and what he brings to the Democratic Party:

In short, he replied:

"I'm glad that Sanders is running. A good way to bring important ideas and facts to people. His candidacy might also press the Dems a little in a progressive direction. In our system of bought elections he has scarcely a chance of getting beyond the primaries, and even if by some miracle he were elected he wouldn't be able to do anything, lacking any congressional representatives, governors, etc. As far as I can see he's a thorn in the side of the Clinton machine, which is not a bad thing."

Donald Trump Report 08.12.15

Most recent polls from Iowa and New Hampshire show Donald Trump at the top

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump came to the home state of the auto industry and attacked Ford Motor Co. for building factories in Mexico. And the Michigan faithful in attendance sided with the bombastic mogul.
“Ford is building a $2.5 billion plant in Mexico,” he roared to a packed auditorium in Birch Run, Michigan, and 2,000 voices responded with lusty boos. “I’ll actually give them a good idea. Why don’t we just let the illegals drive the cars and trucks right into our country?”
The real estate developer and former reality TV star boasted that “President Trump” won’t let Ford move jobs to Mexico and will convince the automaker's Chief Executive Officer Mark Fields to bring jobs back to the United States.

CNN:
Donald Trump said Tuesday that Bernie Sanders "showed that he's weak" by allowing #BlackLivesMatter protesters to take his microphone during a weekend event in Seattle.
And Trump -- the Republican presidential contender who, he said, is attracting the biggest crowds to campaign events along with the Democrat Sanders -- vowed: "Believe me, that's not going to happen to Trump."
"I would never give up my microphone. I thought that was disgusting. That showed such weakness, the way he was taken away by two young women -- the microphone; they just took the whole place over," Trump told reporters during an evening news conference before speaking to a Republican group in Michigan

.In the fallout since the first GOP debate, Fox News chairman Roger Ailes has found himself caught between Donald Trump, who has the full backing of Fox’s misogynist audience, and Megyn Kelly, the star anchor whom Ailes has nurtured and sees as the key to reaching younger viewers. For a few days, Ailes didn’t know how to handle Trump’s full-throated attack on Kelly, who accused Trump of sexism during the debate. Eventually, as I reported yesterday, he made the same choice he always does: follow the ratings, and mend fences with Trump. But that process has meant that Fox has had to mute its defense of Kelly, who is now watching uneasily as the Fox audience turns on her: According to one high-level source, Kelly has told Fox producers that she’s been getting death threats from Trump supporters.

Wall Street Journal:
Donald Trump never skips a chance to remind audiences of his wealth, but he is proving reluctant to spend his own money on campaign essentials typical of a major presidential candidate.
The New York developer has rejected paid television advertising as unnecessary, and he has resisted investing in efforts to secure ballot access, which can be expensive in some states, according to people familiar with his campaign. He also is rejecting appeals from his staff to appear at more in-person events, the people said, building his campaign instead on his ubiquitous cable-TV appearances.
Mr. Trump’s unconventional White House effort is a test of whether a wealthy candidate can flout the rules of political convention and build a durable presidential campaign. Surveys of Iowa and New Hampshire Republicans released Tuesday showed Mr. Trump leading the field, but few people involved in GOP politics believe he will be a top contender for the nomination by the time votes are cast next year.

Liberal Baltimore Columnist Agrees Hillary Clinton Has Too Much Baggage

A Baltimore Sun columnist, HA Goodman, has published an article saying that Bernie Sanders will be the Democrat nominees for 2016 because

  • "Ultimately, the only way for the GOP to win the White House in 2016 would be to campaign against a Democratic candidate who most resembles the Republican platforms on Wall Street, war, trade, and other issues."
Goodman repeats some of the charges Republicans have made against Hillary Clinton:

  •  Hillary Clinton voted for Iraq, she's amassed $328,759,064 over the years (three of her top five donors are Citigroup, Goldman Sachs, and JP Morgan), and she was against gay marriage up until recently.

PoliticusUSA Writer Reveals How Lefties Twist Poll Data

PoliticusUSA's Jason Easley makes it clear how easy it is for the left to twist some polls to suit their need.

He writes:
  • The latest Quinnipiac Poll revealed that five Republicans are tied at the top of the Republican field. Jeb Bush, Marco Rubio, Scott Walker, Ben Carson, and Mike Huckabee each were at 10%.
Do you know who is more popular than even the most popular 2016 Republicans? Sen. Bernie Sanders. In the same poll, Sanders was supported by 15% of Democrats for their party’s nomination. Sen. Sanders trailed Hillary Clinton 57%-15%, but his fifteen percent made him the second most popular presidential candidate in the country.
His conclusion is that Bernie Sanders Has More Support Than Every 2016 Republican Candidate In New Poll

Uuuh, no. The Democrat side of the poll only has about 7 candidates [only 2 official] and Sanders (15%) was one point ahead of Don't Know./Not Applicable (14%). Hillary did get 57%, but there are only two active Democrat candidates.

The Republican fields has about 16 different candidates so it's no surprise the points would be widespread between them all with Jeb Bush leading with about 17%. As Republicans begin to drop out, that will change....then the polls may make some kind of sense.

Bernie Sanders Unplugged: Free Tuition, Universal Prekindergarten System, Hates Wall Street and Rich People,

“Let’s be clear: This campaign is not about Bernie Sanders, it is not about Hillary Clinton, it is not about Jeb Bush or anyone else. This campaign is about the needs of the American people, As someone who has never run a negative political ad in his life, my campaign will be driven by issues and serious debate; not political gossip, not reckless personal attacks or character assassination. This is what I believe the American people want and deserve.” --Bernie Sanders 05.26.15

Among Mr. Sanders’ proposals were a constitutional amendment to overturn the Supreme Court’s decision in the Citizens United case; an unspecified expansion of Social Security benefits, free tuition at public universities and lower interest rates on loans for college students, a universal prekindergarten system and a role in “an international coalition led by the Muslim nations” to defeat the Islamic State throughout the Middle East. [New York Times 05.27.15]

Mr. Sanders drew with Mrs. Clinton was his promise to “break up the largest financial institutions in the country,” taking aim at Wall Street firms and financial services companies that have contributed heavily to Mrs. Clinton’s past campaigns. He also decried the emergence of super PACs; Mrs. Clinton is relying on one in her campaign, and they are common in the Republican field. [New York Times 05.27.15]

This campaign is going to send a message to the billionaire class. And that is: You can’t have it all. You can’t get huge tax breaks while children in this country go hungry. You can’t continue sending our jobs to China while millions are looking for work. You can’t hide your profits in the Cayman Islands and other tax havens, while there are massive unmet needs on every corner of this nation. Your greed has got to end. You cannot take advantage of all the benefits of America, if you refuse to accept your responsibilities.” --Bernie Sanders 05.26.15

Bernie Sanders is all about the income and wealth equality.

On ABC's "This Week," host George Stephanopoulos asked Bernie Sanders if  it would even be possible form someone like him to get the nomination. Sanders identifies himself as a socialist Democrat. Sanders replied:

"Well, so long as we know what democratic socialism is. And if we know that in countries, in Scandinavia, like Denmark, Norway, Sweden, they are very democratic countries, obviously. The voter turnout is a lot higher than it is in the United States. In those countries, health care is the right of all people. And in those countries, college education, graduate school is free."

Stephanopoulos suggested that Republicans would likely jump all over him for saying the US should be like Scandinavia. Sanders replied:

"That's right. And what's wrong with that? What's wrong when you have more income and wealth equality? What's wrong when they have a stronger middle class in many ways than we do, higher minimum wage than we do, and they are stronger on the environment than we do?"

The problem, however, that many of the so-called "content" Swedish are not so content as many dislike the extremely high taxation which would be a foundational reality for any country who purposely establishes itself as a welfare state, (ie, sharing the wealth and income equality).  And, if there ever was a thing called "income equality" it's existence was for a very short time. There's always someone or some group who finds a way to increase their own spending budget.
